No, no, not two weeks notice at work but I wish it was that way when it comes to dating. People never give the courtesy call to let the other person know that they are not interested in pursuing anything further. When I first moved to Los Angeles, I met many men at bars on the weekends. It was so weird, I would meet someone on Friday and Saturday and it was always an interview with each guy I would meet. This is how it went:

The guy would approach me, ask my name, where I’m from and what do I do for a living. I would answer and ask the same questions in return. We continued to chat further and have a cocktail or two and exchange phone numbers. The following week he would call, we go out have a good time and he calls again a few days later for a 2nd date and two weeks go by and I never hear from him again.

This continued for months. I would meet someone new every other weekend if not every weekend. It was like the guys knew that I am new to town. Was it written on my forehead? In any case, I had several two week “relationships” that never went any further then 2 maybe, maybe 3 dinners. Maybe you’re wondering it was because I didn’t give up, oh contraire my friends. That’s what I used to think, but nope. It’s because this city is filled with beautiful women and there are too many to choose from and no one sees what is in front of them because they are too busy thinking that Mrs. Right is still out there. Oh AND 78% of this city is in the ET industry and if you cannot help them succeed what else are you good for?
