When we spoke on the phone we had many things in common and had great phone chemistry. We made plans to meet at an auction on a Saturday afternoon.

When I arrived, he met me at the registration table where we exchanged awkward hellos. He seemed very nice. Once I was through the registration line, he put his arm around my shoulder guiding me and said, “We’re sitting over here.” He then casually added, “My mother is looking forward to meeting you, so you two should sit next to one another.” What?!

There was no mention of his mother attending the auction. In fact, mothers never even entered our one phone conversation. I have nothing against mothers (my mother happens to be my best friend) but they don’t belong on a blind/first date.

There I sat in between the both of them, fielding their questions from my right and from my left. Trapped! As the auction came to a close, he turned to his mother and me and said, “Why don’t I take my two favorite girls out for a bite?” What?! I made a very bad excuse about having a sick dog at home and didn’t look back as I ran for my car.

Remember my post on …..”He’s not responding why?” 3.11.08I had emailed a guy on Match and he never wrote me back.

Well he finally did yesterday. J It has been two weeks now since I’ve emailed him.

His reason for such a long delay was because he was out of town in Europe, on a business trip. Or…… maybe he was giving some other girl a chance and didn’t want to be rude to her by conversing with me. And now she didn’t work out so he’s available again. Believe it or not after many unsuccessful dates girls and I’m sure guys too become a little jaded and I think I’ve heard all the excuse in the book. Hmmm I wonder if there is a book called “Dating Excuses, that REALLY work” lol Maybe I’ll start the next blog on that.

Either way I’ll go out with him tomorrow night for coffee and see how it goes.

feet.jpgI was browsing online the other day and this guy sent me an instant message. I decided to accept without really taking a good look at his profile and we had a pretty good conversation over IM. He seemed really nice; he was intelligent (an attorney so he had to be right?), good-looking (according to his pics) and he made me laugh. We chatted for a while and then realized that we both lived in the same building. What are the odds of that happening? A good-looking, successful guy and lives right above my apartment???? Well two things can come of this. It’s either a little to close or it can be really convenient. We decided to have a glass of wine that evening at my place. I thought what’s the harm since I live with a guy roommate anyway. Click below to read more.

I know what you’re thinking, why would I complain about a guy who didn’t open the car door? Well let me tell you why.  I met the guy online, never saw him before and he insisted on picking me up.  I finally gave in and thought “what can go wrong?”  I walk outside and there are two cars in front of my apartment.  I don’t know which car to get into.  So I just decided to walk over to the nicer car.  I peek through the window and saw him.  Mind you, I am only going by the one picture he sent.  I get into the car and I look at him and I say “ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? You can’t get out and at least introduce yourself???” Seriously, what guy in his right mind would do that??  I have never met the guy; the least he can do is get out and introduce him self and make me feel safe to get into his car.  Well, needless to say, this date was not going to turn out well, but I figured I would still give him a shot.He drives off without knowing where to take me, drives back and forth on the street asking me where to go and suggests Starbucks because it was the closet place to my apartment.  He didn’t want to drive more than a mile.  That was strike two for him.  I thought of this great place nearby and asked him to make a u-turn.  When we approached the destination, I said “we’re here, you can pull over.”  He turned to me with this weird look on his face and said “but this is your apartment.”  I got out and said “exactly, have a nice drive home.”

169_bandaid.jpgMy guy friend told me about his date the other day. I thought this is the right place for that as well. Some girls deserve to make the blog.  He met this girl online and thought her pictures were cute.  The next obvious thing to do is to meet and see if there’s chemistry between them.  As he patiently waits for her at the bar a girl walks over to him.

He looks at her and wonders “do I know her, what’s with the band-aid on the forehead, is this a new

trend I’m not familiar with?” She then introduces herself and he wanted to run or hide.  He couldn’t believe

she was wearing a band-aid on her head. The girl wasn’t very thin and had

a voluptuous top; he had a hard time checking out her twins because that band-aid was starring right at him.  The worst part was the pain coming from his mouth from biting on his tongue so hard. I’m sure it was difficult to keep his mouth shut and not say something sarcastic as he usually does.  It was pretty obvious that she’s hiding a pimple under there.  She would have looked more attractive without covering it up. Actually, nothing could have helped this girl accept the make-up artist that she used for her pictures.

Lesson learned…… re-schedule the date. What’s the rush?
