A friend of mine sent me this email yesterday. I summarized it.

XXXXXX called me last night. I have been going out with him for a little over 6 months. We spent a lot of time together, have met each others family, and even went back packing in Europe for 3 weeks and had the best time together. I seriously thought that this guy can be the one. But then a few weeks after we get back, he calls me and says, “I have a lot going on these days, I am too busy for a girlfriend that needs so much of my time”.

Is he serious?

First of all she is better off without him because he is NOT even MAN enough to have this conversation in person. Second, you don’t date someone for over 6 months and introduce the girl to the family and travel together and then you end with, “I don’t have time”????? Be man enough, honest and tell the truth. If you love someone you make time.  Otherwise don’t waste our time.

onion.jpgLast weekend I went out on a first date with a girl I meet online.  We met for a drink where I enjoyed good conversation and fun atmosphere.  I wasn’t ready to let her go yet, so I asked her if she wanted to stay and get a bite to eat.  She accepted and we ordered an appetizer and dinner.  She ordered a Greek salad, which I noticed was delivered heavy on the onions.  I hoped she didn’t eat too many, just in case I decided to go in for a kiss later in the night.  After we finished dinner we stayed a bit longer and talked.  I noticed mid conversation, a grotesque smell arise from nearby.  I hoped it came from the booth next door and thought through it, taking small breathes until the smell passed.  A few minutes later the same smell entered my nose.  I looked to the left and to the right and realized both booths next to us had been replaced with new patrons.  This meant the smell came from my gorgeous 1st date.  After about which I think was the 4th odor I held my breath for, I politely excused myself from the table, got in my car and quickly drove home.

I met this guy at a party this past weekend.  We exchanged numbers and decided to go out to dinner the other night.  He picked me up at my apartment and said he liked my outfit, not because it looked good, but because it matched his outfit. (Are we going to the prom?) I tried go back and change but he almost begged me not too. We drove to the restaurant and the whole time he told me how good he is to women, how lucky I was to be going out with him and how much he would like to go to the gym with me so we could
“sweat” together. (Geee can we now??? Pleeeease)

This date was many, many years ago & it still makes me irritated.  I was a young college student (20 yrs old) & had a crush on a very cute guy in one of my classes.  After flirting with him for awhile, he asked me out on a date.  I was very excited & spent the whole afternoon deciding what to wear, doing my nails, hair, makeup…trying to look perfect for him.  The evening got off to a poor start when he showed up late, but took a very bad turn, when he escorted me to his car, where two of his buddies sat in the back seat.  They were only interested in getting drunk, so drove to a seedy tavern & went inside, leaving me in the car since I was not yet 21.  When my “date” returned, smelling of beer, he expected me to make out with him while his pals stayed inside to play pool & drink.  I said I needed to get home.  Amazingly, he was not nearly so cute the next time I ran into him at college!
